Introduction - setting the scene

Becoming Christian is a life-long endeavour. Christ lived and worked with
his friends, emphasising in his life and ministry the idea of ‘journeying’ together with others, seeking God through integration of faith and life - companionship, sharing faith, and living out that faith in daily life. Like Christ, his followers need opportunities for peace, reflection, renewal and growth. Furthermore, lay people offering their gifts, money, time and energies, need to be equipped for confident Christian living, worship, witness, and outreach, in their personal and parish community life, discovering for themselves how the Christian way of ‘being’
and ‘doing’ can affect the broader culture we live in.

CCR charity is founded upon outreach work developed by Kit and Caroline Dollard as members of the Ampleforth Abbey Pastoral Team. Kit and Caroline, have enormous energy for serving the needs of the Church, working with individuals and groups, helping them explore what it means to be a responsible adult in a community of faith, who seeking God together’ demonstrate a new quality of life that is attractive to outsiders, inviting them in their turn to
Come and see’
what gives us freedom, meaning and hope!

‘He turned and saw them following, and he said to them ‘What are you looking for?’ They answered: ‘Rabbi, where are you staying? Jesus said ‘Come and see’. (John 1:38-39)
